Balancing the Mind and Body
Energy healing is an alternate way to approach healing that encompasses our spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being. In other words, it is a wholeness approach to achieve and maintain a healthy, happy and whole state of being.
Your Energy Blueprint
The intent behind energy healing is to work on the energetic patterns of our being. Simply put, we have energy “blueprints” that our physical, spiritual, and emotional selves are modeled from. This blueprint is unique in that it is changeable and when a change is made in the blueprint, changes happen in different aspects of our bodies. Energetic events may cause damage to our blueprint. Examples of these events might include traumatic physical events such as falls, car accidents, physical abuse and others such as:
- Back problems
- Fear of success or failure
- Fear of life
- Hormonal imbalance
Emotional events may be divorces, mental abuse, grief or even minor events such as being called a name by someone important to us. When these events occur, we are not always ready to deal with them so we end up stuffing them down and wrapping them up so we can go on with our daily lives. Over time, this starts to alter our blueprints and thus affect our well being. Energy healing is used to correct the blueprint to correct the issues in our physical, spiritual, or emotional selves.
What to Expect from Energy Healing
People often ask, “What does a healing session look like?” It is generally one hour long with some talking before and after. It is not a counseling session because it works on the intuitive level and not on the cognitive level. Ideally it is done in comfortable clothes with the shoes off. Hands are place on different parts of the body and energy is run through that area to achieve balance. After the entire body is balanced, specific work is done on issues such as remembering, forgiving, etc. After the hands-on part of the session is done, you will have a few minutes to recover and then the healer will talk to you for a few minutes.
How often you get energy sessions varies with your need. You may go more often during some stages of your life and less frequently at others. Once every two weeks or once a month is a great frequency for trying the sessions.
On a personal note, I have been a full time massage therapist for 21 years and have helped thousands of people with body issues both small and large. I have never found anything that is even close to the effectiveness of dealing with the whole person as energy healing. I find it invaluable for me and effective for my clients.
